Guest Bathroom Remodel UPdate
We are a few days away from launching our full guest bathroom reveal. It’s been a long process due to shipping delays but we are so happy with the final results! We decided to completely gut this bathroom and put in all new everything. The picture below is where we started. This bathroom has not been touched since 1986. It was dark and drab and we wanted to find a way to make it more open and bright. Our wish plan was to move the tub/shower to the back wall to make it a walk-in shower and remove the separating wall/door to make the bathroom one space rather than separated. Unfortunately, that plan was more than we wanted to spend for this bathroom so plan b was to take out this doorway and cut the wall back as much as possible to create a more open feel.
One of the upgrade decisions I’m glad we went for was to add glass to the tub/shower rather than a standard shower curtain. This partition glass from Vigo was the perfect addition- it gave our bathroom a simple, clean and elevated look. It was easy to install and allowed for our shower tile and hardware to shine. A nice surprise that I didn’t even realize is that it operates a swinging door so you have more access to getting in the shower rather than having a stationary piece of glass.
Since we couldn’t go with our first plan of moving the shower and toilet, our goal was to make the tub/shower as high-end feeling as we could with a new tub insert, tile, plumbing and glass. I’d say we nailed that part!
Stay tuned in the coming week to catch a step-by-step process of how we completed this bathroom start to finish!
